The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 patch has brought changes to weapons in certain multiplayer games that fans have long requested. This change was received as a rare victory for the troubled shooter.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 faced a barrage of criticism since its launch in November 2023. It was expected to be an excellent conclusion to the well-received Modern Warfare reboot trilogy, but instead, it became the main game with the lowest rating.
Players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 voiced a long list of issues with the game, ranging from a disappointing campaign to rampant hacking and more minor complaints such as the inevitable weapon check animation that played with each respawn. However, this last issue has now been resolved.
With the recent patch, the weapon check animation will no longer play upon respawning in small map playlists, allowing players to return to battle without interruption. Weapon checks often led to players dying during respawn.
In addition to releasing this change, Sledgehammer Games also added a gun game to the quick play filter of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
