Remedy has confirmed that their upcoming project will avoid aggressive mechanics that force players into daily sessions. The game won’t feature battle passes, limited-time events, daily quests, or artificial barriers requiring paid DLC.

The developers emphasize their goal is to give players freedom of choice:

We don’t want people to feel pressured to play. Jump in whenever you want and enjoy the game without unnecessary obstacles.

Additionally, Remedy is prioritizing performance optimization, ensuring FBC: Firebreak runs smoothly even on lower-end PCs. The game will also have full Steam Deck support.

Meanwhile, new details have emerged from early hands-on impressions. Mission length varies from 20 minutes to several hours, with difficulty scaling over time. Solo-friendly design—the game is fully playable without co-op. Upgradeable perks – obtaining a perk twice strengthens it, and a third time extends its effect to the entire team.

Unusual augmentations crafted from paranormal objects:

  • Garden Gnome – summons a storm of lightning.
  • Piggy Bank – fires a tornado of coins.
  • Teapot – shoots boiling water bubbles.

FBC: Firebreak will be released in summer 2025.
