Cyberpunk 2077's game director, Gabriel Amatangelo, gave an interview to the author of the YouTube channel Skill Up. During the conversation, he mentioned that several patches with new content might be released for the game in the future. However, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 do not plan to release any major updates — this is due to the majority of the team transitioning to work on the game's sequel. Amatangelo is not yet sure what exactly will be added in the patches.

It really depends on how actively we will be working on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. If the opportunity arises and someone on the team is interested in it, we won't be against it. Who knows what will happen in the next couple of years. But there are definitely no plans to release anything major for the game.

Currently, Amatangelo is leading the development of the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Project Orion. The original game continues to be supported by 17 employees of CD Projekt RED, who are responsible for its maintenance.

According to a recent financial report from the Polish company, Project Orion is at the concept development stage. The game is being developed by CD Projekt RED's Boston division, led by veterans of the first part.
