The studio has been the target of jokes and memes about this endless feature for years. For two decades, their RPGs have been packed with these interruptions - whether entering a building, fast traveling anywhere, or sometimes just moving to another room, players inevitably encounter yet another loading screen.

Many think we're just being lazy or not following trends. But the truth is, Bethesda's projects have such a level of detail and graphical density... that loading all content simultaneously is technically impossible
Bruce Nesmith, the studio's former lead designer.

According to the developer, these screens represent a "necessary evil" - without them, achieving that signature level of world detail that's become the studio's hallmark would be unattainable. Still, the designer expressed hope that future technological advancements may help minimize this issue.

Given that Starfield was Nesmith's final project before leaving the studio, it's reasonable to assume he has some insight into TES VI's development process. And judging by current indications, the sixth installment of the legendary fantasy saga won't be completely free from loading interruptions either.
