Blizzard Entertainment shared a new milestone for Overwatch 2 — since the shooter's release, over 100 million people have played it. The developers announced this achievement on social media.

Overwatch 2 entered early access in October 2022, replacing the first title in the series. A year later, the shooter had its full release. At that time, the title became available on Steam, where it was immediately criticized by dissatisfied players as the game was far from the state that was advertised. Rumors suggest that the sequel was a financial failure for Blizzard, leading the company to stop awarding bonuses to employees and cancel the development of the PvE mode, which was a key part of the promotional campaign for Overwatch 2.

On June 20, 2024, the eleventh competitive season of Overwatch 2 began. With it, the game introduced the new map "Runaspi" and a rework of "Colosseo", a battle pass, a unique arcade mode, mastery missions for Kiriko and Soldier-76, new skins, and much more.
