Today marked the official release of MK1. Those with early access have been exploring the combat combinations in Mortal Kombat 1 and trying out new modes for the series. Judging by gamers' initial reactions, the developers at NetherRealm Studios have successfully rebooted the franchise.
However, not everyone is pleased with the game. The most complaints come from Nintendo Switch players, who were horrified by the game's technical state and graphics quality on the console.
The new Mortal Kombat game on Nintendo Switch suffers from a downgrade in all visual aspects: resolution, textures, models, geometry, lighting, post-processing effects, and so on. The eyes got the worst treatment โ they are static and mostly unlit, making them stand out and look straight ahead in every scene.
In addition to the unimpressive graphics, Mortal Kombat 1 on Nintendo Switch also has regular frame rate drops during gameplay and cutscenes, as well as extremely long loading times.
The main complaint from gamers is that the developers are charging a full $70 price for the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
Users note that at such a price, the game shouldn't look this bad compared to other versions. Furthermore, the game should run smoothly, but developers seem to be forgetting about this aspect lately.
