The Project Borealis prologue page opened on Steam, featuring several screenshots from the teaser released in September.

The fan-made continuation of Half-Life 2: Episode Two is being developed by the Icebreaker Industries team. Development began in 2017, based on the synopsis of the canceled third episode. The project is being built on Unreal Engine 5. According to the developers, they aim to faithfully recreate the physics and gameplay mechanics of the original, blending them with modern graphics and enhanced technical elements.

The action in Project Borealis: Prologue will take place in a snowy version of Ravenholm, filled with reimagined enemies and entirely new secrets. Players will once again don the HEV suit to uncover the city’s mysteries.

Steam has preliminary system requirements listed, but this will likely change. The release date is unknown, and there is no information on the production stage of the full version. With so little data known, everything might change rather quickly, especially since the work is on UE5, which requires quite a performing hardware.
