The Witcher 4 Details

  • The events of The Witcher 4 take place several years after the ending of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Ciri is approximately 25 years old in the story.
  • Geralt of Rivia will appear, but we don't know his role and amount of screentime.
  • Other familiar characters from the Witcher universe may also return.
  • Ciri’s magic is more complex than that of any Witcher; she can wield elemental powers.
  • The combat system will be rebalanced: Ciri is weaker than Geralt but much more agile.
  • There will be fewer side quests, but they will be more detailed and impactful, influencing the game world.
  • The map will be roughly the same size as in the third game.
  • Gwent is likely to make a return.

On December 13, CD Projekt RED unveiled the first cinematic trailer for The Witcher 4 during The Game Awards 2024. Unlike previous games, players will take control of Ciri, who has undergone the Trial of the Grasses and become a fully-fledged Witcher capable of using potions and casting signs.

As of now, the game does not have a release date, and the list of target platforms has yet to be announced.
