The Game Awards 2024 ceremony is in full swing, but the first major announcement has already taken place. CD Projekt Red unveiled a cinematic trailer for The Witcher 4. The video runs for six minutes of absolute cinema.

The protagonist of the new installment will be Ciri, and in the trailer, she is seen attempting to solve a problem in one of the villages. The trailer, created using Unreal Engine 5, looks stunning, but the developers have yet to share any details regarding the potential release date.

This was somewhat expected: considering The Witcher 4 has only just entered full production, we’ll likely have to wait several more years. Much could change in that time, but in any case, CD Projekt Red is entering a phase where players have some idea about the next project from the Polish company.
