Valve is preparing an entirely new matchmaking system for Deadlock. This was revealed by a developer under the nickname Yoshi on the official Discord channel — a screenshot of his message was posted on Reddit.
In response to a message from a user, the Valve employee acknowledged that the current matchmaking system is not working well. He mentioned that the Deadlock team is already working on new algorithms — the code is being written from scratch.
Reddit users have noted that the current matchmaking system indeed performs poorly. Players often find themselves in matches where they either have almost no chance of winning or easily overpower their opponents.
Deadlock is a new project from Valve, currently in the alpha testing phase. On August 24, the developers officially added the game to Steam and allowed it to be streamed and for related content to be published. On September 1, the Deadlock player count surpassed 150,000, even though it is still invite only..
