While Genshin Impact players are waiting for the 5.4 update to drop in a week, the current version allows players to easily take down even bosses with seemingly enormous health pools. Ironically, this exploit requires the Hydro Traveler, a character many consider one of the worst DPS in the game.

The mechanic behind this exploit is surprisingly simple from an outsider's perspective (we're not programmers, so we’re not delving into the internal code of the game). You have the Hydro Traveler, who can cast their Elemental Burst. You also have the Xiao Lanterns, which can be collected during the Lantern Rite Festival. Here’s where the magic happens: you place a certain number of Xiao Lanterns near a boss, cast your Elemental Burst, and suddenly, the boss’s health bar shrinks drastically.

This happens because the Elemental Burst deals extra AoE damage when it interacts with an object. If you place a hundred lanterns, the damage can reach into the millions.

It’s clear that this will likely be nerfed in the future, but for now, the game offers a fantastic opportunity to breeze through boss fights without any effort at all.
