Kotaku has shared details about the situation at Firewalk Studios following the failure of the team-based shooter Concord.

According to the article, Game director of Concord, Ryan Ellis, stepped down from his position a week after the PvP shooter's servers were shut down. Although he remained with the studio, he moved to a less significant role. Ellis was deeply invested in Concord, truly loved the project, and believed in it. Studio employees hold him in high regard, describing him as a wonderful person.

The staff at Firewalk is pessimistic about the studio's future. Some employees speculate that the studio might be reassigned to support one of Sony's many ongoing projects. The possibility of mass layoffs or even a full studio closure hasn't been ruled out. According to sources, Firewalk is one of the most expensive PlayStation studios in terms of costs per employee. Some staff members have already started updating their resumes and looking for new job opportunities, while others are waiting for Sony's decision before making further plans.

The future of Firewalk Studios is uncertain as they await a decision from Sony. The tech giant hasn't yet made a decision regarding the future of Concord. Speculation suggests that the company might relaunch the shooter as a free-to-play title. Before its release, the developers had planned extensive support for Concord, with a roadmap for at least three content seasons.
