On November 16, it will mark 20 years since the release of the iconic game Half-Life 2, which set the standard for first-person shooters for years to come. In honor of this anniversary, developers from Orbifold Studios, who are working on a modern remaster titled Half-Life 2 RTX, have released a special video.

In the video, the developers reveal gameplay clips from the remastered version and a collection of assets created specifically for it. Screenshots include models of weapons and vehicles. Orbifold Studios has also launched a Half-Life 2 RTX Steam page, where players can add the game to their wishlist.

The Orbifold team is made up of dedicated enthusiasts, including well-known creators of Half-Life mods. For their remaster project, they are incorporating full ray tracing, updated assets, and support for DLSS 3.5 with ray reconstruction.

The project is still very far from being finished, and the studio is inviting talented modders and artists to join the project. Some of the team members discuss their work in the new video.

While this group of fans is working on the Half-Life 2 remake, others are striving to continue its unfinished story. A demo of Project Borealis, which aims to carry on the Half-Life narrative, is already available on Steam.
