Gearbox Software head Randy Pitchford considers the cast of the Borderlands movie successful, although he initially expected some pushback from the viewers.

According to Pitchford, he was certain that a certain group of gamers would react negatively to the chosen actors even before the first announcement. However, he added that most of the disgruntled voices belong to a very small number of players: in Pitchford's opinion, the comments come from a tiny and unrepresentative percentage of gamers.

He specifically mentioned that he is very pleased with the choice of Kevin Hart for the role of Roland. Although many online believe that the actor is too short for the role, Pitchford thinks that acting talent is far more important than height.

The Borderlands movie comes out next week, and the audience will be even more ruthless, not because of the franchise or Pitchford's views, but because lately we had several great video game adaptations so the overall bar is not low now.
