With the premiere of Rick and Morty season eight scheduled for the next year, Adult Swim has decided to renew the animated series for its 11th and 12th seasons.

Meanwhile, the seventh season of Rick and Morty hasn't been particularly well-received by viewers, although they liked the finale of it. Creators also published a first look at the upcoming episodes.

In case you somehow didn't know, the show is about the mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his timid grandson Morty Smith. Together, they go on adventures where face enemies, including alternate versions of Rick himself. The rest of their family often plays a role in the storylines as well.

The series had previously been renewed for its 9th and 10th seasons, meaning new episodes will continue to air at least until 2029. Of course, if there are no big breaks in production. This kind of trust to Dan Harmon and his team is worth admiration, although all sorts of things might happen in the upcoming five years.

Nonetheless, Rick and Morty is already an iconic and, we may say, classic animated show with great cultural impact, so this is great news for everyone.
