According to Bloomberg, Ubisoft is facing a class action lawsuit over the disclosure of users' personal data. The publisher allegedly shared the information from its store and subscription service Ubisoft+ with Meta via the Pixel software, which is used to track user activity.

In other words, if someone purchased a game from Ubisoft's store, while logged in to Facebook, their data may have ended up in the hands of third parties.

Ubisoft itself reportedly did not inform users of such terms, which has angered customers. The complaint also mentions  the Pixel tools could not have been implemented on Ubisoft’s web sources without the company's knowledge. The legal process is yet to begin. The plaintiffs want compensation and a prohibition of this practice by Ubisoft.

This news adds to the growing negative atmosphere surrounding the company. Ubisoft’s stock suffered a significant drop in 2024, and there have been numerous rumors about a potential sale of the company. The timing of this news may not be coincidental.
