The animated project will serve as a spiritual successor to Tales of the Jedi (2024), retaining the signature style of concise, self-contained stories. However, this time the focus shifts from noble Jedi to the galaxy's shadow dwellers - smugglers, mercenaries and other denizens of the criminal underworld.
At the center of the plot are two iconic figures:
- Cad Bane - a cynical bounty hunter with a reputation as the most dangerous killer in the Outer Rim;
- Asajj Ventress - Count Dooku's former apprentice, torn between vengeance and the search for redemption.
Both characters, familiar to viewers from The Clone Wars, will receive unexpected development in this dark reimagining of the universe.
It's been confirmed that Kevin Kiner (composer for Andor) will create the soundtrack, with original voice actors reprising their roles. Additionally, various visual easter eggs are expected for attentive fans.
The exact number of episodes remains secret. The release date - May 4, 2025 - coincides with the traditional Star Wars Day.
