Overwatch 2 continues to evolve, and today, the developers have introduced a new damage hero—a ruthless bounty hunter named Freya, who will debut in Season 16. However, players will have a chance to test her early: from March 21 to March 24, a limited-time trial will make the hero temporarily available.

To celebrate the upcoming test, the developers released a trailer showcasing Freya. Additionally, an animated comic will be released on March 20, followed by a gameplay showcase on March 21.

According to the developers, Freya was designed for players who value precision, agility, and pure tactical dominance. In battle, she wields a signature crossbow that fires explosive bolts and has skills that allow her to quickly reposition and strike from above.

Freya’s full release is scheduled for April 22, alongside the launch of Season 16. Beyond her, Overwatch 2 will introduce two more heroes later this year: in Season 18, a support hero codenamed Aqua, and in Season 20, a mysterious gladiator.
