The developers do not expect the release of the next Nintendo console until the end of the fiscal year, meaning before April 2025. This information was reported by GamesIndustry editor Christopher Dring, citing his sources.

According to the developers interviewed, Nintendo has essentially told them not to anticipate the console's release before next April. Dring's sources are optimistic and expect the device to launch in April or May 2025, rather than later next year. However, it's unclear whether these expectations are based on any specific statements from Nintendo.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa previously stated that the company would unveil its next console in the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2025. Yet, that doesn't mean anything in terms of the release window, because much time might pass since the announcement before something is released (wink, Cyberpunk 2077, wink).

The first generation of Nintendo Switch was released in March 2017, and by August 2024, its global sales had exceeded 143 million units.
