NVIDIA’s new GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card officially launches on May 19, priced at $300 in the U.S., but don’t expect to see reviews before it hits shelves. According to reports, NVIDIA is holding back driver access until release day, making it impossible for tech reviewers to test the GPU in advance.

This move comes as the RTX 5060 is set to drop during Computex week—when most top tech creators and journalists are already busy covering other news. Journalists speculate this might be no coincidence, hinting that NVIDIA may be trying to avoid too much attention on the GPU’s 8GB memory, which many consider underwhelming for a 2025 release.

Experts argue that NVIDIA could’ve delayed the launch to equip the card with 12GB of faster GDDR7 memory, which would’ve greatly boosted performance. Rumors suggest a more powerful RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Super with that kind of upgrade may arrive in 2026 instead.

For now, buyers will have to make their decision without the usual flood of early benchmarks and reviews. Whether the RTX 5060 delivers real value—or gets lost in the noise—will become clearer after launch day.
