IEM Dallas is a tournament with relatively modest prize pool ($250,000) but with IEM Cologne spot on the line. Sixteen teams entered the tournament but now only six are left. Group stage brought us some surprises.

The biggest of them is the South American 9z Team. They beat MOUZ, Team Liquid and Team Vitality and won the Group A. Now they are in the semifinals of the tournament, with the French squad and G2 Esports going into the quarterfinals.

In Group B, everything is more predictable. Team Spirit, who has yet to find stability in their performance, was on a hot streak. Three wins in three maps and an easy semifinal spot for the Dragons. Also, FaZe Clan and Heroic are through to the quarterfinals. Funnily, Heroic trolled Natus Vincere, who was eliminated by the Danish club. As the yellow-and-black squad has yet to receive their in-game CS2 major trophy, Heroic presented them with their own version of it.

IEM Dallas will continue on May 31 with the FaZe Clan - G2 Esports quarterfinal. The champion will be crowned on June 2.
