Monster Hunter Wilds continues to amaze with its achievements โ€” within just three days of its release, 8 million copies were sold worldwide. In the US, Capcom's action game has become the best-selling title of 2025 so far, with the PC version playing a key role in this success.

According to data from the analytics firm Circana, the new release not only topped the February sales charts but also achieved launch sales twice as high as MH: Rise in March 2021. However, the most interesting detail is that over 50% of the revenue from the game's sales in the US came from Steam. This is particularly noteworthy considering user complaints about technical issues, which have kept the game's Steam rating at "Mixed".

The success of the PC version of MHW confirms the growing trend of PCs becoming a preferred platform for multi-platform releases. As noted by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, PC versions of games can account for up to 40% or more of total sales. Against the backdrop of declining demand for console hardware (console sales in the US fell by 25% in February compared to the previous year), the importance of PCs as a gaming platform continues to grow.ย

This trend highlights that PCs are becoming an increasingly crucial element in publishers' strategies, especially in the face of a shifting market and evolving player preferences.
