While some games have a hot start, others make news only by flopping. Firewalk Studios has shut down the servers for their team-based PvP shooter Concord.  Players on both PC and PS5 have lost the ability to play Concord. However, they can request refunds for the game purchase, as previously mentioned by Firewalk Studios. Instructions on how to do so are available on the PlayStation blog.

The servers were shut down just two weeks after the game’s release, which took place on August 23. The developers made this decision because the game’s launch completely failed to meet their expectations.

Despite the server shutdown, Firewalk Studios has not completely abandoned Concord. The developers are considering their next steps for supporting the game, potentially including a relaunch or switching to a free-to-play model. The team has not yet shared any specific plans.

At launch, Concord was priced at $40 for the standard edition. Analysts believe that the game’s paid model was one of the main reasons for its failure, especially in an oversaturated multiplayer shooter market.

Sales of Concord reached about 25,000 copies, as previously reported by analyst Simon Carless and journalist Christopher Dring. The game had been in development for at least four years. The peak player count in Concord on Steam was 697.
