Cyberpunk 2077 was originally planned to feature an ambitious DLC set in space, specifically on the Moon, but the project was ultimately shelved. Blogger and dataminer SirMZK has compiled leaks and files from the game’s code that shed light on CD Projekt RED’s plans for this cosmic expansion.

In the game’s files, references to lunar surface maps, structured zones like Exterior Movie Set and Drug Lab , and even a rover model were discovered. The Moon location was intended to be massive, potentially covering a quarter of the size of Night City with an open-world design. This would have added a new dimension to the gameplay experience, taking players far beyond the neon-lit streets they know.

One of the key features of the DLC could have been the Crystal Palace , an elite space station. Although it never made it into the final game, players can catch a glimpse of the Crystal Palace in one of the endings when V looks out of a spaceship window. Additionally, files reveal a prototype for a zero-gravity bar linked to a cut quest called 201 , which was tied to the Arasaka storyline.

Fans are hopeful that some of these ideas might resurface in CD Projekt RED’s upcoming project, Orion , which is said to expand the Cyberpunk universe. However, there has been no official confirmation from the studio regarding the reuse of these concepts.

While the Moon DLC remains a lost dream for now, the uncovered details paint a fascinating picture of what could have been—a bold step for Cyberpunk 2077 into uncharted territory, blending space exploration with the game’s signature cyberpunk aesthetic.
