The game, already nicknamed "the Breaking Bad of indie projects" with over 400,000 concurrent players, has found itself at the center of a scandal. Polish studio Movie Games S.A. (known for drug trade simulators Drug Dealer Simulator 1 and 2) has initiated an investigation due to "overwhelming similarities" between Schedule 1 and their projects.

The statement claims the game copies:

  • Key gameplay mechanics (production systems, distribution networks, and police evasion tactics)
  • Interface design (menus, location maps, risk indicators)
  • Even visual elements ("product" packaging style and deal animations)

Movie Games insists this is "not just inspiration, but unfair competition". The investigation began on March 25 - the very day Schedule 1 launched. If suspicions are confirmed, Movie Games will file a lawsuit against TVGS, the developers of Schedule 1.

Schedule 1 is a drug trade simulator with strategic elements where players cultivate and manufacture illegal substances, build underground distribution networks, manage criminal reputation, and either bribe police or evade pursuit.

The project went viral thanks to its edgy dark humor and meticulous attention to "business processes" - from chemical formulas to logistics.

If the lawsuit succeeds, TVGS could face seizure of game revenue and potential delisting. Additionally, the developers may be ordered to pay legal fines to Movie Games.
