Agadon the Hunter is a new enemy that will replace the Marauder. However, this is not just an enhanced version of the Marauder but a completely unique foe. He combines traits from several bosses, as he can dodge, evade attacks, and even deflect projectiles from the Doom Slayer. This boss will use a variety of combo attacks, forcing players to rely on a sawtooth shield, reminiscent of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice—a game that greatly inspired the developers. The battle with Agadon will serve as the ultimate test of all the skills players have mastered throughout the game, a kind of final exam.
The developers decided not to abandon the concept of a challenging boss like the Marauder, as they believe players are ready to take on an additional challenge. However, last time, the issue wasn't the difficulty mechanics themselves but rather their presentation and insufficient explanation.

Many of the elements required to defeat the Marauder were not previously used in the campaign, which led to dissatisfaction among some players due to the abrupt change in the game's pace. A smoother introduction of mechanics and better player preparation should help address this issue.
DOOM: The Dark Ages will be released on May 15, 2025, for current-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series) and PC (Steam).
