Blizzard was once perceived as a studio with an impeccable reputation, but in recent years, it has lost its aura of invincibility. The reasons behind this could fill an entire book. Journalist Jason Schreier is going to do just that!
The book, Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment, will cover the 33-year history of Blizzard. In it, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier will write about the company's past, present, and future. The book is titled Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment.

The foundation of the book is interviews with over 350 individuals associated with Blizzard. It will cover the company's entire journey, from its founding and phenomenal success to its scandals and acquisition by Microsoft for 69 billion dollars.
As the story around Blizzard continues to unfold, Schreier is still writing and rewriting certain parts. For example, he plans to add an ending about the mass layoffs and cancellation of one of the games that happened in late January.

In an interview with Forbes, Jason Schreier said:
The book answers a lot of the questions that people have about Blizzard's history, from the early days through the modern era. How did Blizzard transform from the dream of two UCLA students into a genuine video game empire? What happened to the company when World of Warcraft took off? Why did Morhaime leave? Why did Kotick want to mess with a company that seemed to be doing so well? What are the real stories behind games like Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, and Overwatch 2?
How many of Blizzard's problems were caused by Activision and how many were self-inflicted? What was Blizzard's culture like in the 1990s, and how did that evolve as the company grew bigger and more professional?
