The number of players in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 surpassed two million just 24 hours after its release. This was announced by publisher Focus Entertainment on its social media.

The creators of Space Marine 2 thanked the players for their interest and strong support. They also mentioned that they are closely monitoring and studying all the feedback.

Critics warmly received the action game, praising its brutal combat system, well-recreated Warhammer 40K atmosphere, and impressive visuals. Players also enjoyed the game a lot, with its peak online player count on Steam surpassing 225,000. On Metacritic, the game ha similar scores from both professional reviewers and users — 83/100 and 8.4/10, respectively.

The first patch for the game is expected to go live very soon. It will include support for ultrawide monitors, private PvE lobbies, and a separate location for training matches. The exact launch date for the patch is still unknown, but it is expected to come out by the end of September.
