The developers of NBA 2K25 have released the ratings of the league's top players. This tradition has a long history, as it generates interest in the game and sparks debates among fans. Although there were no major surprises this time, some questions remain.

The highest rating in NBA 2K25, 97 OVR, was given to three players: Nikola Jokić, Luka Dončić, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Jokić is the reigning MVP, and many fans believe his rating could have been even higher. On the other hand, Denver's early exit in the playoffs last season slightly undermines the legitimacy of Joker's rating. The high ratings of Dončić and the Greek Freak are not surprising — Luka magic has been carrying Dallas on his back for quite some time, while Antetokounmpo's athleticism leaves little room for other options.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Joel Embiid received a 96 rating, which is quite legitimate. Steph Curry, LeBron James, and Jayson Tatum have a rating of 95. It's worth applauding James, who at the age of 39 continues to have an enormous impact on the game.

The biggest progress was seen in Victor Wembanyama, who now has a 91 rating, up from 84. The French unicorn has gained experience, and his performance at the Olympics only strengthened the belief that he has a bright future ahead.

NBA 2K25 is set to release on September 6 for PC and all mainstream consoles of both generations.
