Iron Gate Studio has unveiled the next major update for Valheim, titled The Deep North. A short teaser showcased the new biome, sending players to the Far North—a frigid expanse located in the northernmost part of the game’s world. This icy region will bring entirely new conditions, recipes, enemies, weapons, gear, resources, and more. One of its standout features is the mesmerizing aurora borealis, adding a touch of beauty to the harsh environment.

Interestingly, Iron Gate has adopted a fresh approach to unveiling updates. The development of The Deep North will be narrated through a series of videos featuring the protagonist Hervor Bloodtooth, a brave Viking explorer venturing into uncharted lands. As of now, only the first episode in this series has been released, leaving fans eager for more details.

Following the recent Bog Witch update—which introduced new dishes, drinks, and a merchant—Iron Gate has shifted its focus entirely to crafting The Deep North and refining the game for its full version 1.0 release. Additionally, the last major update, Ashlands , rolled out in May, adding another biome to the game. With each expansion, Valheim continues to grow, offering players even more reasons to explore its Norse-inspired universe.
