Iron Gate Studio has released a new installment of their developer diary, offering players a glimpse into the next Valheim biome. The highlight is the introduction of the Far North's first creature: seals that are almost too adorable to hunt.

In the frosty landscapes of the upcoming The Deep North update, players will encounter seals that differ visually based on their quality. For instance, horned or spotted seals yield more resources compared to regular ones, encouraging strategic hunting decisions.

It’s worth noting that Iron Gate adopted an unconventional approach to teasing this update. Instead of traditional trailers, they chose to share information through narrative-driven videos following the journey of Hervor Blood Tooth as she ventures into the Far North. Each episode provides subtle hints about the upcoming biome, such as glimpses of snow-covered shores and auroras.

No official release date for The Deep North has been announced yet. However, this update is expected to introduce the final biome to Valheim, potentially signaling the game's graduation out of early access.
