EVO Japan is a huge event for the fighting game community, so, unsurprisingly, some companies prepared big announcements. Bandai Namco revealed its plans for the near future of Tekken 8.
The Tekken Project team will release the full changelog for the balance patch 1.04 this Tuesday. We expect massive changes, as many professional players expressed unhappiness about the game's current version. However, developers patiently waited for the EVO Japan to end and bring the changes after their first Tekken World Tour Master+ tier event.
For the summer, Bandai Namco plans to release a new stage called "Seaside Resort", which is a beach stage. Tekken 8 was a huge step forward regarding graphics, so it would be interesting to see how fighters battle each other in the sand.
But the most important is the announcement of the new Tekken 8 character. You shouldn't ask Harada (the Tekken director) for anything, but his memetic and short answer doesn't mean he doesn't listen.
The winner of the European Tekken Cup, Tetsu, and others should be happy that the next in line is Lidia Sobieska, the character who was first introduced in Tekken 7. We've seen a short teaser of her, and now it is confirmed that Lidia will arrive in Tekken 8 this summer.
Finally, this autumn, we will receive a new chapter in the story mode. Both this chapter and the new stage will be free for everyone, while you'll still need to play to get access to Lidia.
