Resident Evil is not the biggest offender here, as only eight titles were released in almost 30 years. And in the near future, we will see one more game.

Resident Evil 9 is currently being developed. This was announced by Capcom during the NEXT – Summer 2024 stream.

The game director for the next Resident Evil is Koshi Nakanishi, who led the development of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. He also worked on Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil Revelations. Nakanishi admitted that it was challenging to determine the direction for the series after Biohazard.

However, according to the game director, he found an idea that seems significant to him. Capcom did not reveal any details about the upcoming game. A full announcement will be made later. Previously, insider Dusk Golem reported that Resident Evil 9 has been delayed until late 2025 or 2026. According to them, it was initially planned for release in 2024, but development has been extended.
