The source claims this is not The Last of Us Part 3 as many expected, but rather a completely new project from the studio. Escayg's involvement is particularly interesting - after the success of The Lost Legacy, he briefly joined Crystal Dynamics to work on Marvel's Avengers before returning to Naughty Dog in 2021.

The gaming community is actively discussing the project's potential connection to the Uncharted franchise. Many fans speculate the new game might continue the story of Nathan Drake's daughter - Cassie. Given that The Lost Legacy was one of the last installments in the series, this development seems quite logical.
