Sony announced that the remaster of the horror game Until Dawn will be released simultaneously on PS5 and PC, with the release date set for October 4. The developers have also published several new screenshots of the updated version along with a trailer.

The team at Ballistic Moon highlighted the key features of the remastered version once again: they improved all graphical aspects of the game using the Unreal Engine 5, added a new camera view, and included collectible items.

The creators of the remaster also slightly modified the prologue, adding additional scenes between the members of the Washington family and reworking some moments from the original game for a better emotional impact. Otherwise, the developers did not change the storyline of Until Dawn.

While all these graphic improvements look great, and it is certainly important in such genre as interactive drama, but was the remaster that needed? The original game was released on PlayStation 4, and there is not that big difference between past and current console generations. But to get the answer to that question we need to wait. Sales numbers don't lie.
