Indian studio Tara Gaming has announced The Age of Bhaarat, a dark fantasy action RPG deeply rooted in Indian mythology. The project is spearheaded by industry veteran Noureddine Abboud (Ghost Recon Wildlands), Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, and acclaimed author Amish Tripathi, known for the Shiva Trilogy. The game is set to release on PC and consoles, though specific platforms remain unconfirmed.
Set in a mythical version of India, The Age of Bhaarat casts players as the Forest Guardian, a powerful warrior tasked with protecting sacred lands from the demonic Rakshas. The richly detailed world is inspired by ancient epics like the Ramayana, offering players cinematic landscapes, battles with mythical beasts, and deep exploration of the Rakshas Empire’s hidden lore.
The narrative, penned by Tripathi himself, explores themes of duty, betrayal, and ancient power. Player decisions will influence the outcome of the story, reinforcing RPG elements with strong replay value. The combat system features grappling hook traversal, mystical artifacts, and traditional Indian weaponry, all customizable to suit different combat styles.
The Age of Bhaarat supports both solo and co-op play and is expected to arrive on Steam and the Epic Games Store, although no release date has been set.
