Ubisoft is continuing development on the remake of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, according to journalist Tom Henderson. His sources suggest that until recently, the game was planned for release around November 2025, indicating that the remake has made significant progress.

However, Ubisoft's plans for the Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag remake may have shifted after the company delayed Assassin's Creed Shadows. The delay could have impacted the entire release schedule of Ubisoft's titles.

Henderson's source at Ubisoft provided him with a small fragment of gameplay from the Black Flag remake. In the clip, Edward Kenway is shown piloting a ship in the game using an updated version of the Anvil Engine. Henderson stated that he received the video under the condition that he not release it publicly.

Ubisoft plans to release around 10 games in the Assassin's Creed series over the next five years, spanning a range of sizes and lengths. One of these, codenamed Jade, will be a full-fledged mobile action game, with its release slated for the second quarter of 2025.
