Publisher Team17 has announced a re-release of the iconic Worms Armageddon for current-gen consoles. The upgraded Anniversary edition will be available on all main consoles less than a month from now, on September 26.

The developers showcased a gameplay trailer and shared details about different changes that will come with the ports. The game will feature optimized controls for modern controllers, which is not surprising given the advancements made over the past 25 years.

If there is one thing that is a must-have, it is the support of modern aspect ratios which changed quite a lot during these years. The game will also include customizable filters and enhanced graphics. One of the standout additions will be an interactive museum where players can explore the long history of Worms. While it may not be interesting to the newer players, oldies will feed their nostalgia for sure.

The original Worms Armageddon was released in 1999. On PC, the game received balance updates over the years, with the last major patch released in 2020.
