The events of the show will unfold in the world of the original games, which has survived a war between humans and humanoid biological weapons known as Gears. The story will center around a young man named Sin Kiske, born from the union of a man and a woman on opposite sides of the conflict.

The adaptation is being produced by the studio Sanzigen, best known for BanG Dream. The director is Shigeru Morikawa, and the character design was done by developers from Arc System Works. Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers will premiere in 2025.
