Miramax Studios has announced the start of work on a sequel to the action film The Beekeeper, in which Jason Statham will once again play the lead role. The first installment, released last year, grossed $162 million, and the sequel promises to replicate this success. 

The sequel will be directed by action maestro Timo Tjahjanto, known for his work on films like The Night Comes for Us and Nobody 2. Filming is set to begin in fall 2025. 

The plot of the original film followed a former operative who embarks on a path of revenge after the death of his neighbor. Alongside Statham, the film starred Josh Hutcherson and Jeremy Irons, with David Ayer in the director's chair. The sequel promises to retain the signature fast-paced action style and gripping storyline that audiences loved. 

The exact release date for the sequel remains unknown.
