Despite the warning from Bioware that there won't be big announcements on N7 Day, one story will definitely make fans of Mass Effect excited.

According to Variety, Amazon MGM Studios has begun work on a live-action series based on the franchise. The project now has a screenwriter and executive producer, with these roles assigned to Daniel Casey. However, nothing about a possible plot has been shared yet.

News that Amazon wanted to create a Mass Effect series first emerged in 2021. At the time, Henry Cavill was reportedly interested in the project, even hinting that he was already busy with it. However, development remained stalled — aside from the cancellation of a Mass Effect movie.

Meanwhile, BioWare is working on Mass Effect 4, and there are veterans of the franchise who are on the development team. However, it is not expected to release before 2026, with some estimates suggesting it could be even in 2029. However, after the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, big part of the team was reassigned to the space opera, which may speed up progress.
