Twenty one years is a solid time for any company in the gaming industry. However, even then the success and sustainability is not guaranteed. If you're not independent and belong to big corporation, chances might not always be on your side. Meta decided to close Ready at Dawn It was known for projects like The Order: 1886 (PS4), God of War games for the PSP, and Lone Echo for virtual reality headsets.

After this news emerged, various pieces of information emerged. Insider and blogger Shinobi602 revealed that the team was planning a continuation to their PS4-exclusive. The developers had even managed to prepare an updated engine. Studio aimed to make gameplay better, and the sequel could have been a huge leap forward in terms of quality.

The project ultimately did not get the "green light", but Shinobi602 did not go into details about the reasons behind the decision. The IP rights to The Order: 1886 belong to PlayStation.

After studio had been acquired by Meta, these plans were entirely shut down and Ready at Dawn focused on VR-gaming. However, this news doesn't mean that Meta is giving up on VR gaming.
