It seems that the largest deal in human history will not happen after all. Qualcomm executives have lost interest in acquiring Intel, influenced by the complexities surrounding the potential purchase. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.

Qualcomm may still consider acquiring individual Intel divisions. The company could also renew its interest in the deal in the future, Bloomberg noted.

Four months ago, Bloomberg and other media reported that Qualcomm had made a preliminary offer for a potential acquisition of Intel. The timing was crucial, as Intel published a disappointing earnings report, forecasting lower revenue and announcing plans to reduce its workforce by 15% as part of a strategic review and optimization.

We all remember how Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard took around two years, and it looked like there were hundreds of different questions and problems. We may assume that Qualcomm obtaining Intel would have produced even more problems and opposition, because hardware is much more strategically important than games. And here we could have lots of problems not only from the government people of the USA, but also, let's say, China — a critical market for both companies.
