The League of Legends community has been experiencing heightened tension lately, leading to significant changes by Riot Games. Recently, player criticism reached a boiling point, prompting the developers to remove a skin from the game entirely.

The controversy surrounded two specific skins: Grand Reckoning Alistar and Sahn-Uzal Mordekaiser. The Alistar skin was ultimately removed due to player complaints that it was essentially just a recolor of the base character model. Meanwhile, the release of the Mordekaiser skin has been postponed, with Riot pledging to invest more time and effort into designing future "Ascended" skins.

Seasonal skins from the Battle Pass are also undergoing adjustments. Riot announced plans to reduce their overall number, allowing for greater focus on quality. "We've decided to decrease the total number of seasonal skins, including those in the paid tier of the Battle Pass," said the developers. "This will allow us to dedicate more attention to a few key skins and ensure they meet our quality standards. Additionally, our champion selection process for these skins hasn't always been optimal."

Looking ahead, Riot plans to include 3 thematic skins, 2 standard skins, and 1 prestige-level skin per Battle Pass. For Act 2, players can expect a prestige skin for Darius, along with skins for Sion and Talon in the premium version of the pass.

Another major change is the return of Hextech chests. Starting with patch 25.05, which releases next week, players can earn up to ten chests and keys per act. Eight of these chests will be included in the free tier of the Battle Pass, replacing seasonal and mystery epic-tier skins. The remaining two chests per act can be earned through honor progression.

In addition to these changes, Riot announced a 50% reduction in the cost of purchasing all champions using blue essence, effective with patch 25.05. This move aims to make the game more accessible to new and returning players while addressing long-standing concerns about champion pricing.

These updates reflect Riot's commitment to listening to player feedback and making meaningful changes to enhance the overall League of Legends experience.
