It has suddenly come to light that Disney has decided to cancel the lavish premiere of its live-action adaptation, which was scheduled for March 15, 2025.
The thing is, over the past few years, the corporation has always organized such events—complete with a red carpet, numerous journalists from various publications, and, of course, the actors themselves. Moreover, these premieres were held not only for full-length films but even for TV series. Sometimes, they were even streamed on Twitch.
But this time, Disney has decided to keep things modest: no red carpet or interviews with journalists, only photographers and the film crew.
It is obvious that all of this is the result of prolonged criticism of the film, which began almost immediately after its first announcement. Every trailer for the new live-action adaptation of the famous fairy tale has set anti-records, receiving an insane number of dislikes compared to likes. In the comments, people criticized the CGI and, of course, the miscasting of the main character, with many asking, "And SHE is the one the Evil Queen is jealous of??" Additionally, Disney may be wary of sharp political questions, as the actresses in the lead roles hold diametrically opposing views on such issues.
The worldwide premiere of the film is set for March 21, 2025.
