In the ongoing struggle of players for their rights, the use of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) is widely considered one of the most serious anti-consumer practices in the gaming industry. Items available for a limited time can generate significant revenue for developers.

Therefore, it's encouraging to see that Fortnite is gradually moving away from this practice. Epic Games has announced that rewards from each new battle pass will no longer be exclusive and will appear in the in-game store eighteen months after the pass ends.

It's still unclear how exactly this will work. Moreover, some items might not make it to the store at all, as much can change over that time. Epic Games does not guarantee that every single item will appear in the shop. This does not sound very good, but considering that previously players didn't even have this option, it is a positive step for the community, especially since the rest of the battle pass system remains unchanged.
