GabeFollower, a famous data miner who specializes on Valve and was one of the first people to reveal the existence of Deadlock to the big public, dropped another bomb. According to him, Valve is actively working on a new Half-Life game, and there are many strings in the company's code that proves that.

This idea comes from the fact that many of his findings over last couple of years didn't find its implementation in Deadlock, so it might be used in other projects. According to GabeFollower, after Counter-Strike moved to Source 2, and Deadlock officially announced, Valve became sure that Source 2 can be used for shooters, be it first-person or third-person games and this is the main step in moving towards the new Half-Life game..

What might be in Half-Life 3?

  • Manipulation with gravity. GabeFollower thinks that in the future Half-Life game there might be different puzzles that can be solved through manipulating gravity. Also, there might be interesting combats that would totally be a new experience for many players.
  • Photorealistic graphics. Valve seems to be working with the company that provides realistic facial animations. Also there are strings connected to the NPCs having different moods and thus acting differently.
  • Large portion of Xen. Currently, there are questions in the community that are left unanswered. Most of them revolve in one way or another around Xen. Considering that Valve also works on gravity in their game, we might see a large portion of a game there.

However, it is too early to open up a bottle of champagne. According to GabeFollower, this project is approaching the internal testing stage. It is the most critical stage of development as many projects have been canceled after unsatisfactory testing results. The good news is that Valve didn't forget the franchise that made it famous, and it looks like developers are as ambitious as ever.
