Sony has introduced Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, which will be released for PC and PS5 on October 31, 2024.

For the enhanced version of Horizon Zero Dawn, developers have upgraded the graphics and updated the dialogue to align with the style of the second installment, Horizon Forbidden West. The remaster includes over 10 hours of re-recorded dialogues and scenes. According to the developers, this edition features numerous graphical improvements, bringing the level of detail closer to that of Forbidden West.

The remaster has also seen enhancements in sound design, with support for surround sound and Dolby Atmos technology. In total, the developers have made hundreds of improvements related to the audio design.

The remaster offers native support for PS5 Pro, while the PC version is compatible with modern technologies, including DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.1 upscalers.

The original Horizon Zero Dawn was released in 2017 for PS4, meaning the remaster will arrive seven years later. The price for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be $50, with owners of the original version able to upgrade for $10. The $10 upgrade will also be available for those who received the digital copy for free. This applies to both Steam and EGS players.

Sony has also stated that the remastered version for PC will require a PlayStation Network account, and the game may not be sold in countries where such accounts cannot be officially created.
