The new installment of the iconic series from Capcom set a new record just 30 minutes after its release on Steam: the number of concurrent players exceeded 675,000, soon reaching the 1 million mark. This is not only the best launch in the history of the Monster Hunter series but also an absolute record among all the company's games. The previous record holder, Monster Hunter: World (2018), held the bar at 334,000 active players, while Monster Hunter Rise (2022) takes third place with 230,000. However, despite the impressive numbers, the game faced a wave of negative reviews on Steam due to technical issues such as bugs and frequent crashes.

Monster Hunter Wilds offers players a standalone storyline, making it an ideal entry point for newcomers. The action takes place in a world filled with dangerous creatures, where the main character explores the mysteries of the Forbidden Lands. Here, players will encounter the legendary "White Ghost"—a mythical creature—as well as meet enigmatic Guardians, who add depth and intrigue to the plot.

Although the game received mostly positive reviews prior to its release, some critics note that Capcom simplified the gameplay mechanics to attract a broader audience. However, many players and reviewers consider these changes successful, emphasizing that they made the game more accessible without sacrificing its depth and quality.

Monster Hunter Wilds is now available on modern consoles (PS5, Xbox Series) and PC.
