NetherRealm Studios has released a new trailer offering a detailed look at Cyrax's gameplay in Mortal Kombat 1. It seems like Cyrax will be a very agile character with an advantage in aerial combat.

The trailer provides several hints about the overall story arc that players can expect. It’s clear that Cyrax and Sektor end up on opposite sides by the end of the expansion, and it will be interesting to see what happens in the finale. Additionally, as several Mortal Kombat fans have noted, it seems that the kameo fighter Sub-Zero will undergo some changes.

Khaos Reigns will bring back Animalities to the series, and the trailer hints at what Cyrax's might be — she transforms into a hornet. This actually makes sense, given the character's black-and-yellow color scheme.

The most amusing moment of the trailer is a nod to Game of Thrones and the infamous episode The Rains of Castamere. Johnny Cage even explicitly mentions, "Season 3, Episode 9." If you've seen the show, you’ll undoubtedly understand the reference.

The Khaos Reigns story expansion will be released on September 24, 2024. On that date, Cyrax will also be added to the game.
